On Jan 16th at 4 pm, Boukje Cnossen will defend her doctoral thesis in the auditorium of Tilburg University. The title of the thesis is ‘Organising Against Appropriation: How Self-Employed Workers in the Creative Industries Make Things Work‘, and it concerns the organising practices of creative self-employed professionals who are part of creative hubs and collectives in the context of Amsterdam. The thesis contributes to organisation studies by focusing on the role of physical space and discursive practices in the emergence of organisations and is supervised by Arjen van Witteloostuijn and Viviane Sergi.
Recently, Ieva Rozentale had the wonderful opportunity to participate in placemaking Week 2017 in Amsterdam and meet like-minded people working hard to make cities more liveable and human, as weird as it might sound. Vizier is also present, to tackle some urgent questions with the audience. To appear real and original seems more important than ever in the way we present ourselves in daily life and on social media. It is playing a role in everything we do, buy and consume.
